Day 0 - Ocean Dip

Distance: 31 miles
Time: 2.25 hrs
Elevation Gain: 607ft

It was a bit cool and wet.  It was a nice ride out to the ocean for the customary back wheel dip in the Pacific Ocean at Fort Stevens State Park, but watch out for those waves.  We road in small groups, and it was great to be back on the road again. The roads were decent and the scenery was lush green with rolling hills.  It was a good day for ride!

Here's a Link to my GPS Rout

We had orientation later in the afternoon where the staff went over what we should expect from them and what they expect from use.  Safety was a big part of the orientation as well as rules of the road.  Everyone introduced themselves and briefly told why they came on this trip.  The age group is from about 22 to 72. We have 35 riders going all the way and 15 going part of the way. Orientation was followed by dinner and then we went over the rout for tomorrow.  Tomorrow we ride 69 miles to St. Helens,  we will have a few hills to climb, but the downhills should be fun.

My roommate Gary, taking a picture of me dipping my wheels.  Unfortunately my software does not read the new Camera RAW file format.  I will post them later.
