Day 37 - Our Last Century Ride

Ludington, MI to Mt. Pleasant, MI

Distance: 113 miles
Time: 7.5 hrs
Elevation Gain: 2,923 ft

No Internet last night so I posted day 36 tonight.  Look for it in the achieves.

We had fantastic weather today; sunny with a few clouds, low 60's to start and mid 80's by mid afternoon.  The wind was mild when we started and picked up by early afternoon, but it was either at our backs or from the side.  We road over gentle rolling hills all day, nothing steep or long.  The roads were in fairly good shape, only few rough areas.  The landscape was more farm land, corn fields and wheat fields, lakes, and heavy wooded areas including a few pine forests.  The trees gave of a lot of shade as we road which helped keep us cool and gave us a break from the wind in the afternoon.  We traveled on back roads with very light traffic.

Today was our last century ride which signals the beginning of the end for this tour.  It is the fist "last" of many "lasts" that will come over the next two weeks.

Tomorrow we have a 74 mile ride to Birch Run, MI.
