A beautiful day for a bike ride, yes it was another great day!! We have been lucky with having such great weather. The weather was 60 degrees with party cloudy sky's at the start of the ride and warmed up to the mid to high 80's by early afternoon. The wind was at our backs most of the day that helped push us along the 98 mile route. This was my personal best time for a century ride and I still felt strong at the end of the ride. We road through desert, frame land, cattle feed lots with thousands of cows, and along the Snake River. The farm land was reclaimed desert, the land was irrigated with large mobile irrigation systems that used thousands of gallons of water. We road along the Snake River Gorge and crossed the Snake River on the Perrine Memerial Bridge near where Evil Knievel attempted to jump the rive with his rocket powered motorcycle. There were stunning sites of bluffs and canyons, and open land were you can see for miles. We traveled on back roads most of the day that were a bit rough, but the lack of traffic made it worth riding on. Tomorrow we have a late start due to the short mileage, a 38 mile ride to Burley, ID. We will have opertunities to take side trips to Shoshone Falls and Twin Falls. We also will have a scavenger hunt to keep us busy.
